Veterinarian
Dr. Molly O’Brien offers veterinary care to pets in Blue Springs and surrounding Kansas City areas.
Dr. O’Brien grew up in Michigan and knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She continued her education to obtain her doctorate at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana, Illinois.
During her time attending veterinary school in Urbana Dr. O’Brien worked at the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic providing care for wild mammals, birds, and reptiles. She served as a Team Leader overseeing volunteers and providing training on triage, orphan care, safe patient restraint, and other basic technical skills required to provide daily medical care for native wildlife species.
After graduating from veterinary school in 2019 Dr. O’Brien worked as an associate veterinarian at two veterinary hospitals in Michigan. In 2023 Dr. O’Brien moved to the Kansas City area to join the team of doctors at Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.
Dr. O’Brien’s special interests include soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and medical care for small exotic pets such as rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs. In her free time Dr. O’Brien enjoys reading, baking, playing video and board games, watching movies, and spending time with her dog, Bear and her ball python, Monty.
