Are you missing what the rest of the world is watching?

These days if you can't see flash videos on the internet, you are missing quite a bit! We have put together a basic guide to help you so you can view our videos, as well as flash videos anywhere you surf the net.

You may want to save this page in your favorites so you can get back here if you need to re-start your computer or browser.

Step 1: Before trying anything else, make sure that you have enabled active content (Active X controls). Look for a yellow bar at the top of your screen just under the internet address bar that says something like "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has disabled Active X...click here for options." The videos on these pages will not harm your computer and pose no security risk. Click on the bar and choose allow blocked content.

If this does not work or you do not see the bar, procede to Step 2.

Step 2: Download the latest version of your web browser, especially if you are using Internet Explorer. The new Internet Explorer 8 seems vastly improved over previous versions for active content like videos.

To determine which web browser you are using, click on the HELP menu at the top of your page and note if the last menu items says "About Internet Explorer" or "About Mozilla Firefox." If you do not have a HELP menu or do not have Internet Explorer or Firefox, click here.

Step 3: Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. To download flash you will need to know if you are using an Apple Mac or Windows PC computer. If you are using a Windows PC, you will need to know what operating system you are using (Xp, Vista, etc). If you do not know this information, click here.

  • Download or update Adobe Flash Player
  • In the first drop down box, choose your operating system.
  • In the second drop down, chose your browser.
  • Click on agree and download.
  • In the box which opens, choose save file. Save the file to your desktop or somewhere you will be able to find it.
  • After it downloads, double click on the file and run it.
  • You may need to restart your computer or browser, then return to this page.

Can you see the video at the top of this page now?
If yes, congratulations, you can now view flash videos all over the internet.

If not, click here.

Determine what type of computer, operating system, or web browser you are using:

Windows PC vs Apple Mac
There is a very high probability if you are reading this page you are not using a Mac, but confirm this by looking at the casing and interface of your computer for an Apple logo or label like this:

apple logo

If you see an Apple logo, visit Apple Support for help. If you don't see an Apple, then you are using a PC and the rest of this tutorial is for you.

Windows Operating Systems
Determine which windows operating system (os) you are using:

Method 1: Click Start and then highlight and RIGHT click on My Computer and choose the Properties option.

Method 2: Click Start and then Run. If there is any text in the box that appears delete it and then type in "winver" and click Ok.

When the system information appears, scan the text for the following terms:

  • Windows Vista
  • Windows XP
  • Windows 2000 or 2003
  • Windows 1998
  • Windows Mellenium Edition (ME)

Web Browsers
To determine which internet browser you are using and update your version, if needed:

  • Click on the HELP menu at the very top of your screen and then on the About Internet Explorer or About Mozilla Firefox link.
  • The About tab will tell you the name of your browser and which version you are using.

Return to top to update your web browser and get flash video.

Adobe Flash install/re-install fix
Latent technical problems caused by old versions of Adobe Flash may cause problems for some users, even when the new version is installed. This requires that you completely un-install all flash from your computer and then re-install the latest version.

Adobe's Help Page to completely un-install flash.

Restart your computer.

Re-install Adobe Flash Player after the un-install.

If the instructions above don't resolve the issue, you may want to try the following:

  1. Temporarily disable popup blocking software installed on your computer to see if the problem resolves.
  2. Allow YouTube.com and bluespringsanimalhospital.com as a trusted site in your Firewall software.
  3. Ensure other applications like Quicktime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren't set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player.

If you are unsuccessful after attempting these solutions, we are sorry we were not able to assist you. Contact Adobe Technical Support.
